I know the previous powder room post had some not so pretty moments but we’ve hit the home stretch and I’m ready to give you what you’ve earned.
The finished product.
Disclaimer: Unfortunately, the powder room has zero natural light and is super narrow and difficult to photograph so I only have one photo
Ha Ha just kidding.
This is how the Powder Room looks as I write this.
That shelf is custom made and cost almost nothing to make.
The drawer fronts are not the original drawer fronts. I built these using 1/2″ MDF and 1/4″ Lattice strips. Look for my upcoming post on how to make your own drawer fronts.
This counter top is built out of wood and hand painted by yours truly. I will show you how I built this counter top in my next post.
I really really REALLY love how it turned out. It was a lot of work and with the exception of removing the wallpaper, I did everything by myself. This is my first renovation and I’m glad I started with the smallest room in the house. It gives me an accurate estimate of how long it really takes to do things and how tiny obstacles can cause huge delays.
I’m sure you are wondering how I did with the budget so here we go….
- Sink & Faucet=$270
- Light Fixture=$56
- Seeded Glass Shades=$10 for two
- Satin Nickel Hardware=$29
- Satin Nickel Accessories=$57
- Plumbing components=$5
- Lumber=$15 (I used some wood from my scrap pile)
- Photo Frames=$15
- Artificial Orchid=$20 (After the free one given to me died)
- Floral Bouquet=DIY Free
- Artwork=DIY Free
Grand Total =$507
As Always, if you want to know where I got anything in this room click HERE to find out.
Of course I went over budget but not by too much, I guess I could have choose a light fixture that already had seeded glass and saved $10 but in the grand scheme of things, whats $10?
So what do you think? Have any questions? Please do share.
