All Things Bedroom Related Sources

OK, get your mind out the gutter.

This post is about all the things used to remodel my bedroom. It took me so long to finish the room that most of the bedroom sources are spread across several posts.

Now for the cost breakdown....

Bedroom Budget

I saved over $1,000 from my original budget.

I know this seems like a huge chunk of change but consider this… It took me 9 months to make this happen. I didn’t have to pay all that money at once.  It was kinda like a Bedroom Renovation on Layway, ok not really but sorta.

Spreading this out over time also allowed me to make better decisions on what I really wanted to spend money on and what I didn’t. Like the $350 Restoration Hardware sheets that my husband was livid about. Or the $325 Duvet set that I caught on sale for 20% off. Not all projects can be handled from this angle but it sure is nice when you can delay spending your hard earned cash.

I hope this answers all questions related to the bedroom and its sources.

Your bedroom is seriously amazing. I found your site through your Etsy review of the Urchin chandelier, and fell down a blog hole reading about all of your amazing DIY projects. I love your taste! (Obviously … since we were looking at the same lighting fixture.)

Can I ask, is your Harper duvet the Glacier Gray option, or did there used to be a cream/ivory one? I’m looking for a duvet cover that’s got some pops of color and modernity but isn’t too twee, and I really like yours … but I can’t find a non-grey or -blue option, and I’m not sure if it’s just the computer screen color that’s off or if the cream was discontinued.

Bravo on everything! That settee! That herringbone dresser/bedtable! Hot damn.

Thanks, the duvet is the glacier grey option but it really isn’t grey. It’s more of a greige. I was a little disappointed when it arrived but it blended right into my decor. Depending on how you decorate around it you can meek it look how you want.

Hello Ayisha! I found your blog today while searching S-W Black Fox paint, which I’m considering using in a room that I’m trying to make my library/relaxing space. I was planning to use their satin finish, but you mentioned when you first painted that you might have preferred flat. Now that your room is decorated (beautifully – I love it!) and some time has passed, what do you think about the finish? It looks perfect in the photos.

    • Ayisha says

Thanks Renee for clicking through and reading. The finish is fine now. The sheen in the eggshell & satin reflects light that makes photographing difficult and it shows imperfections in the wall. My walls have no texture. If I weren’t taking photos for a blog, the eggshell would be the perfect. Whatever you choose, keep some paint for touchups. The dark color shows lint from your cleaning or paper towel that is almost impossible to get rid of. I’ve taken to just painting over any scratches or spots on the wall. I hope I’ve answered your question (or over answered it.)
